Car, motorhome, campervan electrical system manual

When trying to understand car, campervan and motorhome electrical systems you need a good base knowledge.  That’s why I’m recommending the Haynes Manual for a ‘back to basics’ approach.  It covers basic principles for installation, diagnosis and everything in between.

There’s a very good section on charging and alternators which is a big part of the problems van modders face when adding extra load to their system.

With good detailed explanation and decent quality pictures it’s essential reading.  Here’s that and a few others currently available:

Convert a VW van or bus to a camper

Title says it all really, “How to convert a vw bus or van to a camper“. This is a decent guide to conversion for VW vans into a full blown camper van.  It doesn’t offer plans to build from but has good pictures and info which help to plan your project and method of build.

Build your own motorcaravan and the T5 conversion manual are both listed here too. These are both excellent reference manuals for modders and tinkerers.

Classic campervans 1956 to 1979 is positively the best present I received last year!
